Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

We have a thorough understanding of current Environmental Impact Assessment legislation, guidance and case law, and a proven track record of coordinating and integrating multi-disciplinary teams of consultants. This allows us to undertake environmental assessments cost effectively from project concept through detailed design to construction and operation.

We also regularly undertake and input to EIA Screening and EIA Scoping requests, as well as acting as a critical friend in the preparation of Environmental Statements to ensure a successful outcome for planning applications and NSIPs.

As a Corporate Member of the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Management (IEMA) and a founding member of the EIA Quality Mark accreditation scheme, we are experienced in both producing Environmental Statements and reviewing those produced by others.

Vitacress Salads

Supporting a thriving agricultural business

Vitacress Salads Ltd is a leading supplier of baby leaf and other salad products to major retailers. Its UK washing and packing operations are located at Lower Link Farm, St Mary Bourne in Hampshire. Adams Hendry has provided consultancy to Vitacress for a number of years, in connection with applications to enable improvements to the operations at that site. The objectives of the proposed improvements are to enhance the quality and freshness of the Company’s salad products, to remove inefficiencies and reduce costs of the operation and to deliver environmental benefits including reduced energy usage and CO2 emissions.

The site lies in a sensitive location, within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the operations on the site discharge water into the Bourne Rivulet, a tributary of the River Test. Adams Hendry acted as planning consultants on the scheme as well as lead consultant for the application and Environmental Statement, working with a number of specialist sub-consultants.
