Aurora House
Planning application for change of use
Aurora World Ltd appointed Adams Hendry to prepare and submit a planning application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for the change of use of Unit 3 Aurora House from a mixed use class E(g)(i) (office) and B8 (warehouse and distribution) use in Chineham, Basingstoke.
The objective of the change of use was to increase the storage capacity on site in response to longer lead times in deliveries to the site. The site is within an established business park where there is planning support for employment generating uses.
The main issues to address were the amenity impact to neighbouring residential properties and to demonstrate that the increase in storage space would not lead to an increase in traffic movements to and from the site.
Adams Hendry liaised with the Council to address any concerns throughout the planning application process and successfully obtained planning permission for the change of use.
