Adams Hendry has been acting on behalf of Oikos Storage Ltd, the operators of the nationally significant fuel storage terminal located on Canvey Island, since 2008. Over this period we have provided a variety of planning services including strategic planning advice, achieved both planning permission and hazardous substances consents and responded to numerous Local Planning Authority consultations.
Using our thorough understanding of planning legislation, including permitted development rights and the Environmental Impact Assessment process we have assisted the operators in modernising the site’s infrastructure to an exceptionally high standard. The facility is now regarded as one of the safest fuel storage terminals in Europe.
Most recently we have gained planning permission, a marine licence and river works licence for the construction and operation of a new deep water jetty consisting of the refurbishment of and extension to an existing jetty, refurbishment of an existing 12 tank storage compound and the undertaking of related operational and site infrastructure works.
In addition to securing physical works on the site, Adams Hendry have actively engaged with the Local Planning Authority throughout the preparation of their Core Strategy and subsequent Local Plan documents. Our aim is to safeguard the interests of our client and to that end our involvement has consisted of the submission of written responses to various consultation documents and where necessary appearing at public examinations.
