AHCL has gained planning permission for Dean Park Cricket Limited to extend the number of children attending Dean Park Day Nursery from 26 to 45 pre-School children at any one time.
Working closely with the clients to tackle issues raised by Council officers, in particular Highways and Environmental Health, AHCL prepared the planning application to vary a previous planning condition attached to the consent granted in 2016 to extend the use of the building and ground from a D2 use to a mixed D1/D2 use, for which AHCL also gained planning permission.
Since opening in Summer 2016, Dean Park Day Nursery has gone from strength to strength and is located in the ground floor of the former cricket pavilion, a grade II listed building. The increase is temporary for one year but will provide additional, much needed quality child care close to Bournemouth town centre where demand for all day childcare continues to increase.
Set within six acres of the former cricket ground in the Dean Park Conservation Area, the day nursery combines well with the daily use of the site for outdoor sports, maintaining its original purpose.
