Working as sub-consultants to Atkins, Adams Hendry has been engaged in a three year programme of water resource option appraisals for Southern Water. Extending across water resource zones in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Sussex and Kent, the investigations considered all potential means of both managing customer demand for water and delivering additional water resources.

Adams Hendry’s role was to provide planning and environmental advice to the team, and to undertake stakeholder engagement at key stages of the option appraisal and related Strategic Environmental Appraisal process. The appraisal process is now complete, resulting in the identification of specific schemes for promotion and development in Southern Water’s next Business Plan period (2010-2015).
