Adams Hendry has submitted a planning application to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council for a scheme of improvements at Vitacress Salads Ltd’s site at Lower Link Farm, St Mary Bourne in Hampshire. The scheme proposes the construction of new intake and dispatch bays, covered storage and a new agricultural and vehicle workshop, together with new lighting and landscaping of the site. The objectives of the proposed scheme are to improve the quality and freshness of the Company’s salad products, to remove inefficiencies and reduce costs of the operation and to deliver environmental benefits including reduced energy usage and CO2 emissions.

An Environmental Statement (ES) was required to be submitted by the Borough Council. Adams Hendry acted as planning consultants on the scheme as well as lead consultant for the application and ES, working with a consultancy team involving Environ (water and ecological issues), Fabrik (landscape and visual impact), 24 Acoustics (noise and vibration), Entec (air quality) and MJH Associates (traffic and transport).
