Accommodating household growth continues to challenge the UK planning system. To achieve more sustainable forms of development, government policy prioritises the redevelopment of urban brownfield sites with good accessibility to services and facilities. This approach also encourages a greater mix of land uses within development schemes, and a higher quality of urban design that can often be best achieved by masterplanning prior to the submission of a planning application.

Adams Hendry has experience of masterplanning for volume housebuilders on strategic and other large land allocations at Basingstoke, Eastleigh, Four Marks and Winchester and for clients on smaller but highly complex and sensitive sites such as the Cathedral Close at Winchester.
