Adams Hendry secured consent at appeal for the construction of a 56 bed nursing home in Winchester on behalf of Colten Care Ltd.
The scheme was locally controversial as it involved the demolition of a public house however Adams Hendry was able to demonstrate that the retention of the existing use was no longer practical or desirable and that the need for additional purpose-built care home bed spaces should outweigh the loss.
As well as commissioning specialist reports on the local demand for care home spaces, Adams Hendry also undertook a thorough assessment of alternative public house / function room facilities in the area.
